The vital role of grinding in the reconstruction process
Grinding is one of the final and most critical steps in the remanufacturing process of industrial and hot turbine parts. This operation is performed to achieve dimensional accuracy, high surface quality, and the elimination of surface discontinuities, and plays a vital role in the final performance of the parts, especially in parts such as blades, shafts, discs, and flanges.
Advanced grinding equipment and machinery
At Aria Turbine Moein, we use Precision Grinding and Cylindrical Grinding machines with manual and CNC control. These equipments are capable of grinding parts in various dimensions with very precise tolerances (up to 10 microns). Our machines are regularly calibrated and ready to implement specific industrial projects.
Types of grinding available
Based on the type of part and its application, various grinding services are provided, including:
Internal and external cylindrical grinding (ID/OD)
Grinding flat surfaces with high surface smoothness
Grinding of hardened parts
Precise profiling of curved and special surfaces
Reconstruction of the original dimensions of parts after welding or coating
Quality control in the grinding process
All grinding steps are controlled using precise measuring instruments such as digital micrometers, indicator dials, precision calipers and reference surfaces. Surface roughness (Ra), flatness, roundness and alignment of surfaces are also measured and recorded in accordance with industry standards. In sensitive projects, we also use advanced methods such as optical testing and surface structure examination.
Application of grinding in the reconstruction of turbine parts
Parts that are reconditioned after welding, coating, or heat treatment require precision grinding to restore the original geometric form and ensure proper performance in harsh working conditions. These parts include:
Gas and steam turbine blades
Sealing rings and nozzles
Turbine discs
Power transmission shafts and axles
Benefits of our grinding services
High precision in final finishing of industrial parts
Possibility of implementing heavy and delicate grinding projects
Experience in refurbishing sensitive components to power plant standards
